Hi
WOW! Lots of information! Thanks a million. :) that was quite satisfactory! ;)
Well now I know alot about Tin Toaism. But there's still some questions. Like; How does one become a Tin Toaist? Do they also have some traditions or sth? Any special Day or calender? Any Ceremony? Who is the leader of the followers now? (So many questions huh?!! ;) )
Well I've not watched that movie yet. I don't know what the story is all about. But about the questions you asked, I should explain a bit about my countrym Iran.
You know where it is and you may find the exact population very easily (sth around 70,000,000).
The official language in Iran is Farsi (Persian). We got lots of accents and even languages spoken though. Like GILAKI in Gilan (north of Iran) or Torki [Turkish, Azari] in the north-west of Iran, Arabic in the south-west and west, or BALOUCHI in south-east. and many many other local accents. But almost everyone can also speak Farsi.
Students from the age of 12 study English in the guidence school and continue into high-school years. But frankly I may advise you not to rely on that! Now a day, they usually send their kids to the English Institutes from the very beginning. There are also lots of people speak English very fluently. It wont be so had to find a good translator.
It'd be perfect if you can come here. Tons of attractions for tourists! They usually get impressed! ;) If you managed to come over, don't mis these cities; Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad, Yazd, Kish (it's an island), Qeshm (An island too), Tabriz, and Lahijan.
You'll find Iranians VERY kind and friendly. If you can find a friend here, he/she would definately take you home for some meal and rest and would even let you stay there for several days for sure! Iranians do ANYTHING for their guests. Experience that! ;)
Most people are Muslim here. Very few are Christian.
Just let me know if you were serious about coming by.
I'd also be glad to recieve your messages in my Mailbox at Haghighi.Sina@gmail.com .
Thank you again for the information
Yours,sincerely
Sina

Hi Sina!!!!!!!!!

How does one become a Tin Toaist?

It is like Christianity, one convert, say make a decision that one wants to follow the religion.
But the rest are very different from Christianity.

Then, there is a ceremony when one takes a death vow to follow the religion.

Then one was taught a prayer, it is like a special spell, that you can't tell anyone else, and you take a death vow too.

Hey, how does one become Muslim?
By birth??
Any ceremony?
If one becomes a Christian/Buddhist later, would he/she be in danger? Will he/she and their family be persecuted?

Do they also have some traditions or sth? Any special Day or calender? Any Ceremony?

Yes, indeed, many traditions, many ceremony, and many supernatural rituals too. I don't know how to tell whether there is anything ingenuine, but there are lots of very .... like possession by different gods. I don't know how they do it, and at the same time it is also quite easy to pretend to be possessed.

However, the teachings that they taught while being possessed are very sensible and sometimes enlightening too!

I don't know the English, there is also writing of an unknown language in some ceremony and somebody would translate that immediately.

The list goes on...

A lot of Chinese cultural religions have such elements of spirits and all.

However, I was most moved by their teachings, and Ilearned more about the teachings of Buddhism too there.

When I became Christian later after much much struggle, and after much Bible studies...

I actually knew that what Tin Toaism quoted about Christianity (as it is the unification of 5 great religions) were quite off-beat. Not really ...

But when I was in Tin T, they didn't talk much about Muslim, so I don't know what they said about Muslim.

I was in a Catholic school for over 15years before I became Tin Toaist, though. I enjoyed and liked Catholic teachings, but they just have no relationship with me.

There wasn't too much of a difference between what I learned at Catholic school and from Protestant churches. It was just that I came to know Christianity in much greater depth later after Tin Toaism.

This depth of understanding and experience during a period of intensive Bible Study make me come to the very reluctant realization that the God that Tin Toaism taught about has very DIFFERENT Character from the God radiating from the New Testament and my experience. And so... very reluctanly... have to face the reality that

They are really two different Deities.

The one in Tin Toaism which is supposed to be the unifying God and religion.

The one in Christianity is NOT the same God in Tin T.

There are lots of rituals in Tin T, and for very good reasons.
Even though sometimes very 'strange' and supernatural, and sometimes very healthy, eg, vegetarianism.

One has to DO a lot to repay for one's wrong-doings...

It never occurred to me when I studied in my Catholic school, what significance for saving our sins by Jesus. Well,..ok..I am fine. Jesus is right, but I am OK.

The answer to life, go back to God,
Proposed Tin Taoism. And with the conversion, start to do and perform all the rules and rituals and etc..

I enjoyed these purifying rituals.
And Tin Tao's god is like a stern parent or strict teacher.
- vows taken by me to do a , b, c.

But ...
This Christian God is different.
He forgives my wrong-doings without the need of me to do anything. And Jesus's death pay the price or punishment of all these wrong-doings, and also MY wrong-doings..

--> Love
This Christian God is Love.

Even I can do all the a, b, c, rules of Tin Tao fine, and quite happily, and with much ease.

I see LOVE of the Christian God, so it is not really to my account that I have to repay this and that, even though I thought that I can repay all myself, as i was doing fine with my vegetarianism, etc.

Love.
Re-pay for me.
And I realise I can't really finish all my wrong-doings...even though I can be good at something..I'd always do different kind of selfish things...etc

WOw..!!

Who is the leader of the followers now?
There is a Saint Mother. She was in China and she went to Taiwan. And she died in old age there years ago. There are other leaders to inherit.

I can't remember how she became a Saint Mother. She was from a farmer family in China.

We were shown her photo from time to time.
I can't remember the history very clearly, like who is before her and all that.

How did you and your family become Muslim?

I saw her (the movie) sincere believe in Allah in her comic book, her sincere prayer to Allah, more than in the movie. The movie portrait a very moralistic and stern side of Islam. Like women has to cover up even when they need to work, to paint, as long as they are in public...

Thanks for answering in great details about the different languages.

Wow...so Farsi is the unifying Lang in Iran. And also in Iraq??

Arabic is always a very very mysterious lang to me. It is difficult to understand how come different areas speak a different Arabic and are still called Arabic?

Like Eygptian Arabic, Iran Arabic, Standard Arabic.

So if one learn Standard Arabic, people in Northern Iran can't understand??? Or in the South, can't understand???

ARe you in Northern Iran or Southern Iran?

The movie, that gal speaks French.

So one learns 2 Iranian lang and English or French??

Wow!!! Thanks for letting me feel the hospitality of Iranian!!!

Cheers!
